Questions
Frequently asked questions about online lessons
Here are the answers to what students and companies ask me most often: how the lessons work, how paying and cancelling work, how to choose a course and how training at a company runs. Can't find your question? Write to me.
Write to meHow the lessons work
What do I need for online lessons?
A computer, laptop or tablet with a camera. Headphones help you hear more clearly. You can take notes on paper or electronically, whichever you prefer.
Which app will we use?
Any free app that is comfortable for you. The most commonly used are MS Teams, Google Meet, Zoom and Yandex Telemost.
Can I use a phone?
Yes, but I recommend a laptop or desktop: a larger screen makes it easier to see the materials and to work on texts and documents together. If you use a phone only occasionally, for example while travelling, make sure you have a stable connection, headphones with a microphone and a quiet place.
Payment and cancelling
Is the trial lesson free?
No, it costs €10. A paid trial lesson shows that both of us value each other's time, and the price is very affordable.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
A one-to-one lesson can be cancelled or moved free of charge at least 24 hours in advance. A group lesson can be moved at least 24 hours in advance if all participants agree. Without 24 hours' notice the lesson is charged as taught, because we value each other's time.
How do I pay for lessons?
Lessons are paid in advance. After the trial lesson we settle on a course and I send you an invoice with payment instructions.
Is VAT added to the price?
I am not registered for VAT, so the price is final and nothing is added.
Do I pay for the learning materials separately?
No. All the learning materials are included in the price of the lesson, with nothing extra to pay.
Courses and levels
I don't know which course to choose. What should I do?
Take a trial lesson. We will find your level and I will suggest the most suitable course, or put together an individual plan.
Which levels and topics do you teach?
English from pre-intermediate (A2) to advanced (C1), Russian from beginners (A1) to C2. I teach General, Business and Conversational English, tailored courses and, on request, Technical English.
How many people are in a group?
From 3 to 6. A course starts once at least 3 people have signed up. The price is per participant.
Can I bring my own group?
Yes. If there are 3 to 6 of you, colleagues or friends, sign up together and we will find a time that suits you all.
Do I have to continue after the trial lesson?
No. The trial lesson commits you to nothing. If you want to continue, we choose a package of lessons together.
For companies
How does invoicing work for companies?
Once a month I send you an invoice for the lessons actually taught that month. I am not registered for VAT, so the price on the invoice is final.
How will a company know the training works?
At the start I test every employee. Every month I then send HR an attendance overview and short feedback. A formal progress report and a progress test are available by agreement, up to twice a year.
Can you teach at our office?
I teach mainly online. When you have at least 6 lessons back to back in one place on the same day, we can arrange for me to teach at your office. If I cannot come on a given day, the same lessons run online.
How many employees can be in a group?
From 2 to 6. Online, a group of up to 4 works best, but since not everyone signed up makes it to every lesson, I take up to 6. A group pays the same per lesson as one person.

Still have a question?
I am happy to answer anything else. Or just try a trial lesson for €10.
I answer calls and messages Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 Czech time.
